UME IN NAGASAKI

In the mid-February, there is a period of low temperatures and cool weather. After that it gradually warms up, many kinds of flowers begin blooming and create a sense of welcome spring. Plum blossom in Japan is called “Ume”, one of the earliest flowers with brilliant colors. Interestingly, many foreigners, including those who have lived in Japan for many years, are still confused between plum blossom and cherry blossoms. This also happens to a few Japanese. This time is also the occasion of Japanese flower festival and usually extended to the end of March. "Ume" occurred somewhere at Nagasaki University, created highly enthusiastic for international students as me. Now, let’s wait for the bright "Ume" and "Sakura" days in the next time at Nagasaki University.
